About Carlos Davila

Carlos Davila, Esq. is the Founder and Principal of the Davila Law Firm, where he provides sophisticated legal counsel and strategic advocacy in complex real estate, commercial litigation, and family law matters, including cases uniquely affecting military members and their families. With a career spanning private practice and distinguished military service, Mr. Davila brings a rare combination of courtroom experience, operational discipline, and global legal perspective to his clients.

Born in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and raised in Puerto Rico, Mr. Davila earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, along with a Certificate in Law, Criminology, and Deviance. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School and further advanced his legal studies at University College London, focusing on European Community Law.

Mr. Davila began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in key legal roles both domestically and abroad. His assignments included serving as an International Law Officer in Okinawa, Japan, and as a prosecutor and legal advisor at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In these positions, he handled complex litigation, advised senior leadership on high-stakes legal matters, and developed substantial expertise in trial advocacy, regulatory compliance, and international law.

Following his transition to private practice, Mr. Davila joined the Miami office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he represented clients in sophisticated, multi-state class action litigation. He subsequently founded the Davila Law Firm in Miami, Florida, where he has established a reputation for delivering results-driven representation across a broad spectrum of legal matters. His practice focuses on real estate transactions and litigation, complex commercial disputes, and family law, with particular experience in military family cases involving issues such as deployment, jurisdiction, and the intersection of military and civilian legal systems.

In parallel with his civilian practice, Mr. Davila has continued to serve in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has held senior legal leadership roles, including Reserve Deputy Staff Judge Advocate and Command Legal Advisor to major Marine Corps commands. In these capacities, he has overseen high-level investigations, advised on ethics and compliance matters, and provided legal guidance on operational and fiscal issues at the command level.

Mr. Davila is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Florida and Wisconsin, as well as military courts. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and is known for his disciplined, strategic approach to complex legal challenges.

Mr. Davila’s practice is defined by precision, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to advancing his clients’ interests at the highest level.
